Hollywood Hills Home-
This kitchen, laundry, and bath for Amy, Jeff, and their three kids and one dog was an especially fun challenge. The clients wanted a modern and fun kitchen that would blend with the existing house. Working closely with the architect who designed this addition to a 1914 Craftsman, we carefully considered how each area of the kitchen would be used. The cabinets have lots of fun inserts (hanging cabinet for linens, pull down drying rack in the laundry) to make the kitchen as tailored as possible to the needs of the family. The green cabinets echo the exterior color of the house and look fresh and new while respecting the pedigree of the house. We recommended materials (encaustic cement tiles, unlacquered brass) that would age gracefully and develop a patina through use.
