Melrose Hill Kitchen
Gretchen's sweet 1917 Craftsman had a cramped, dark kitchen that needed a bit of TLC. Our project to renovate the kitchen was hampered by needing to repair the foundation, relocate the furnace to the attic, remove asbestos and a disused chimney, upgrade the electrical and plumbing, and install new windows, doors, and wood floors. Whew. That done, we were able to create this vibrant, bright room. Gretchen loves to cook, and now she has lots of space to spread out and be creative. She loves bright colors and immediately fell for this wallpaper from Transylvania. The end result is a kitchen that suits a 106 year old house but is lively and functional for the current owner.
